KGB Fantastic Fiction is a monthly reading series held on the third Wednesday of every month at the famous KGB Bar in Manhattan. The reading series features luminaries and up-and-comers in speculative fiction. Admission is always free.

Peter Straub is donating a short excerpt, in various drafts, of a short story, titled “Mallon the Guru,” deleted from the novel in progress, THE SKYLARK. Four drafts are dated from 9/14/07 to 9/25/07, and the fifth is the original matter that was deleted from the book. Also included in the file is a printed copy of an email, dated July 19, 2007, from Al Sarrantonio to Peter Straub that begins:

“Here’s wassup, you guy you –

Neil Gaiman and I would like you to submit a story to an original
anthology we’re editing for Morrow called STORIES.”
